Career orientation

Primary school students

We are by your side from the very beginning. From the moment you begin to consider whether your child should attend a Private or a Public school, as the end of Year 6 approaches. What are the pros and cons of this decision? Will my child be at a disadvantage when the time comes for him to apply to a good university if he doesn’t go to a Private school? We will help you to answer these questions and many more, through the consultation visits which will be held with our experienced Study Abroad Education Counsellors.
There are significant differences, but also some similarities, in the ways in which private and public education is conducted. Most parents find it difficult to decide which option would be the most suitable for their child.
Our Career Orientation Counsellors can guide and inform each student and his/her parents of the choices available regarding their transition from primary to secondary education. We will also explain how your child can prepare appropriately for this transition and when this preparation should begin, so that he can proceed smoothly to the next stage of his academic career.

Secondary school students

Lyceum SCHOOL students

What exactly are GCSE A-levels and who needs to take them? Should I, along with my Lyceum Leaving Certificate, ALSO have GCSE A-levels? If so, in which subjects and with what grades? What if I don’t have any GCSE A-levels and I only have my Lyceum Leaving Certificate? Can I still apply for a place at a reputable universitiy abroad that requires GCSE A-levels? When should I take the A-levels and how long will it take me to complete them?

Which profession can I pursue when I am older? Which subjects should I choose at Lyceum so that I will have enough choices later on for my studies? Which professions will be in demand when I will enter the labour market? How can I make the best use of my time to maximise my chances of studying Medicine? Our Counsellors can provide information for these, and for many other concerns that you may have, as well as the guidance needed to make the best decisions.
The Career Orientation Counsellor, through a series of meetings, first helps the student to identify WHAT he wants to study. He then helps him to choose WHERE he wants to study (that is, which country, Cyprus – Greece or in another country abroad), explaining in detail both the admission criteria required, and the costs resulting from each of his choices for each country (accommodation, food, student loans, scholarships, grants, duration of study, accreditation of studies etc.).

Important Note: Applications for university should be made while you are still at Lyceum. The boys however, because they must first complete their military service, still have a little time in front of them, but they must make sure that this is applicable to them by talking with us, as in many cases we submit their applications while they are still at school!
